The Align Fields window

The Align Fields feature can be used to line up fields on your report, or make all the fields the same width, height, or font. This feature is particularly useful when you're adding new fields to a report.

1 Click on the first of the fields that you want to align. A group of red dots will appear around the selected field.

2 Hold down the Ctrl keyboard key, and click on the other fields that you want to align. The selected fields will be indicated by blue dots.

3 Right mouse click anywhere on the report. The Align Fields window will be displayed.

4 If you don't want to align any of the selected fields, click on the align column to change the align option to No.

5 Select the Align Options.

image\radial.gif Top Align aligns the tops of the fields with the field selected in the Align Fields With drop-down list. Select this option for fields that are in a Horizontal line.

image\radial.gif Left Align aligns the left sides of the fields with the field selected in the Align Fields With drop-down list. Select this option for fields that are in a vertical line.

image\radial.gif Right Align aligns the right sides of the fields with the field selected in the Align Fields With drop-down list. Select this option for fields that are in a vertical line.

image\radial.gif No Align leaves the alignment of fields as is. Select this option when you only want to select one of the Other Options.

6 Select the Other Options.

þ Make Same Width changes all field widths to the same width as the field selected in the Align Fields With drop-down list.]

þ Make Same Height changes all field height to the same height as the field selected in the Align Fields With drop-down list.

þ Make Same Font - changes all fonts to the same font as the field selected in the Align Fields With drop-down list.

7 From the Align Fields With drop-down list, select the field that you want to align the rest of the fields with.

8 Click Align. The fields will be aligned or adjusted as indicated.
