Workers Compensation and WorkCover – Overview

Elite Payroll can track all Workers Compensation or WorkCover (SA and QLD) claims and payments made for each employee. The compensation tab lists all of the claims and payments for the employee. Whenever a compensation pay is processed, it appears here, along with a description of what it was for.

In addition, for South Australia and Queensland users, Elite Payroll includes a list of current WorkCover rates and classifications and calculates the amount of WorkCover liable for each employee.

Recording a payment or claim

There are three ways to record Workers Compensation or WorkCover payment or claim:

Review or edit a payment or claim

Workers Compensation or WorkCover payments and claims for an individual employee are listed on the employee record. Workers Compensation or WorkCover payments and claims for all employees are listed on the Workers Compensation List. You can review or edit existing claims or add new payments or claims through these windows.

Reports

The Compensation Report shows a listing of workers' compensation or WorkCover (SA and QLD) payments to your employees and claims made against your workers' compensation insurance company.

The WorkCover Report shows how much WorkCover your company must pay.

WorkCover rates

Elite Payroll includes a list of current WorkCover Rates and classifications. It uses these to calculate the amount of WorkCover liable for each employee.

To apply a WorkCover Rate to an employee

The WorkCover Rate for each employee is selected on the Employees list – Taxation Tab.
