Check boxes/Options

When we refer to "selecting" an option or checkbox, we mean that you should click on the checkbox, if necessary, so that a checkmark appears in the box like this: þ

When we refer to "clearing" or "un-selecting" a checkbox, we mean that you should click on the checkbox, if necessary, so that the box is cleared, and appears like this: ¨

Option buttons

When we refer to "Clicking on this option" or "Selecting this option", we mean that you should click on the Option button, if necessary, so that it appears like this: image\radial.gif

Clicking

When we refer to clicking on a section of the window, we mean that you place the cursor over a section of the window and press the left mouse button once.

Example When told to click on the "OK" button, move the mouse pointer over the top of the "OK" button and click the left mouse button once.

Double Clicking

When we refer to double clicking on a section of the window, we mean that you place the cursor over a section of the window and press the left mouse button twice. The second click should immediately follow the first.

Example When told to double click on the employee name, in the employees list, move the mouse pointer over an employee's name and click the left mouse button twice; this will bring up the employee details window.

Right Clicking

When we refer to right clicking on a section of the window we mean that you place the cursor over a section of the window and press the right mouse button once.

Example To view how the tax was calculated for a particular pay, move the mouse pointer over the tax field and click once with the right mouse button. A Q-Zoom report will appear with full details of how the tax was calculated.

Drop-down list

image\dropdown.gifWhen we refer to selecting from a drop-down list, we mean that you should click on the drop-down list arrow image\downarow.gif to the right of the box, which displays the drop-down list and then you should click on one of the choices to select that choice.
