Awards – Standard details tab

On the Standard Details tab, you name the award, and enter the default department, pay period, and superannuation details.

1 Award Name – Enter the award name, which can be up to 20 characters in length. If you are creating a federal award, use the name of that award. Otherwise, enter an award name that is meaningful to you.

2 Department Name – Enter the department name, which can be up to 20 characters in length. If the department you want hasn't yet been created, type in the name and then press TAB. Click Setup on the Quick-Add pop-up window to add the name to the Department List.

3 Pay Period – Select the pay period for employees under this award.
Fortnightly employees have 26 pay periods in a year.
Bi-Monthly employees have 24 pay periods in a year.

4 Super Type – Select how superannuation is calculated under this award. If the employees are entitled to a percentage of their gross wages, select Percentage. If you have agreed to pay a certain dollar amount each pay period, select Amount.

 If you selected percentage, enter the Percentage value. For example, to enter 9%, enter 9. If you selected amount, enter the dollar amount.

5 Leave Loading – If the employees under this award are entitled to annual leave loading, enter the percentage. Elite Payroll will add leave loading to the employee's pay when you pay them Annual Leave.

6 Leave Type – Select the leave type. If the leave you want hasn't yet been set up, type in the name and then press TAB. Click Setup on the Quick-Add window to add the leave type to the to the Pay Rates List. When you select an existing leave type, Elite Payroll will automatically enter the defaults for that leave type.

 Start Accruing After – Specify how long the employee must be employed before leave starts to accrue. If you leave this section blank, Elite Payroll will start accruing the leave immediately. Alternatively, you can enter how long Elite Payroll should wait before it starts accruing leave.

Number – Enter the number of periods before leave starts to accrue.

Period – Select a period from the drop-down list. A period can be the number of Pays, Weeks, Months or Years before it starts accruing. Select Birthdays if you want leave to begin to accrue on the employee’s birthday.

 Accrual Details – Enter how often the leave accrues by selecting the period from the Every column.

Period – Select what leave accrual is based on. It can be based on total hours, hours worked under a Normal Hours pay rate, pays, weeks, months, years, or even birthdays.

Accrue Hours – Enter how many leave hours should be accrued per hour, or per "period", as selected above.

Click OK to save all changes, or click on the Award Payments Detail section to continue.
