Reconnect at logon checkbox. Note that each network computer must use the same drive letter.If you have Elite Payroll Pro, you can set up Elite Payroll on a network so that more than one person can access the company's payroll information at the same time.
1 Insert the install CD and install Elite Payroll on your server.
Make sure to remember the directory where you installed Elite Payroll.
2 Register Elite Payroll.
3 Create a new company or upgrade your company files from a previous version.
Elite Payroll must be installed on each computer that will have access to the company file through the network server. Follow the standard installation steps and do set up each network computer as follows:
1 Install Elite Payroll on all of the computers that will have access to the network server. Follow the Standard Installation steps on each computer.
2 Start up Elite Payroll. If the upgrade wizard appears, click the Leave button.
3 Register each copy of Elite Payroll installed
Each computer must be registered with it's own unique registration number. However, to save time, you can register all of the computers with on email.
4 Using Windows Explorer, map a network drive from the Tools menu.
Select a drive letter and check the Reconnect at logon checkbox. Note that each network computer must use the same drive letter.
5 Select the server and drive that Elite Payroll was on and then click OK.
6 Return to Elite Payroll and choose Setup Network Data Path from the File menu. This menu option is disabled until you have registered Elite Payroll.
7 Change the path to the network drive and path that was set up in Step 4. The drive and path must already exist on the network.
For example, if Elite Payroll was installed into c:\program files\Elite Payroll, then enter c:\program files\Elite Payroll\data as the data path.
If you can't remember the data path and folder name, click Browse and use the window to locate the drive and folder.
8 Select the Use existing files located at the network server path option.
9 Click Save.
10 Select the company file and then click Open.
